The All Seasons Wreath was developed as a versatile, all-in-one decorative solution that adapts with the changing seasons—without the need to buy and store multiple wreaths. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, this innovative product features interchangeable magnetic seasonal pieces that allow users to update the look of the wreath with a simple swap.
We worked with the client to bring her vision to life, handling everything from product engineering and prototyping to material selection and manufacturability.
Traditional wreaths are limited by season and style, often requiring users to purchase different wreaths throughout the year. Our client wanted a smarter, sustainable solution—a single wreath base with swappable decorations for Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each decorative element had to be secure yet easy to attach and remove.
At the heart of the design is a 24-inch lamb’s ear wreath base with a burlap bow, equipped with six hidden magnetic mounting points. The product is designed to be user-friendly, weather-resistant, and scalable for additional expansion packs and seasonal themes.
Designing an interchangeable magnetic wreath system brought a unique mix of aesthetic, functional, and manufacturing challenges:
Magnet Placement & Strength: Ensuring strong, consistent magnetic hold across six positions, while allowing for easy removal and reattachment without damaging the base.
Weather Durability: Selecting UV-coated materials and protective finishes that resist fading, moisture, and outdoor wear.
Interchangeable Decor Engineering: Creating standardized attachment elements that align with each season while ensuring visual cohesion and weight balance.
Storage & Labelling System: Designing a clear labelling method to help users quickly identify and switch seasonal pieces without confusion.
Scalability for Expansion: Engineering the base and magnets to accommodate future seasonal kits and themed add-ons (e.g., Halloween, Easter, sports).
