The Baby Nest Pod is a thoughtfully designed baby lounger created to provide a secure, snug, and soothing space for newborns to rest, lounge, or nap during the day. Developed for a private inventor client, Oxta Design led the complete design-to-manufacture process—balancing ergonomic comfort, portability, and baby-safe materials in a product that supports early-stage parenting.
Soft to the touch yet structured for support, the Baby Nest Pod fits seamlessly into daily routines—whether placed on the couch, bed, or play mat.
With a rising demand for versatile, safe, and travel-friendly baby loungers in the Australian market, our client wanted to bring a product to life that truly considered the needs of both infants and parents. Unlike many mass-market loungers, the Baby Nest Pod was designed from the ground up with a focus on premium materials, modern aesthetics, and manufacturing efficiency.
The design included a removable outer cover, a well-padded mattress base, and raised sides to give babies a cocoon-like feel—encouraging comfort while awake or asleep.
This keyboard was not just about aesthetics. It had to meet the expectations of a demanding user base of gamers, typists, and keyboard enthusiasts who expect excellent acoustics, haptics, and build quality—all within a compact form factor.
Designing for infants requires more than just soft textures and cute aesthetics. We had to carefully address:
Safety Standards: Ensuring the lounger followed industry guidelines for infant sleep and lounging, including breathable fabrics and structural stability.
Ergonomic Design: Creating a pod that supports the baby’s natural posture while reducing the risk of flat head syndrome.
Material Selection: Choosing 100% cotton and non-toxic, hypoallergenic foams that are gentle on sensitive skin and meet safety certifications.
Portability vs. Structure: Balancing softness with the structural integrity needed for carrying, cleaning, and repeated use.
Ease of Cleaning: Designing for removable, machine-washable components without compromising the product’s form or longevity.
